VE Day 2025

On Thursday, St John Fisher joined the rest of the nation in celebrating the 80th anniversary of VE Day. Children came into school dressed in red, white, and blue and began the day with a special assembly, where we reflected on the significance of this historic event and why it continues to matter today.

Throughout the day, pupils took part in a range of themed activities and crafts, learning about life during the 1940s. In the afternoon, the whole school came together to enjoy a celebration that included traditional 1940s playground games, swing dancing, singing wartime victory songs, and more.

With the beautiful weather and the incredible enthusiasm of the children, it was a day full of learning, joy, and remembrance—one we’re sure will live long in the memory of our pupils.
