School Dinner Menu

At St John Fisher we feel passionate about the benefits of a hot meal at lunchtime for pupils. Research shows that better food in schools is improving what children eat during the day,  and there's evidence of a clear link between what children eat at lunchtime in school, where they eat it and how they focus with their teachers in the afternoon.

St John Fisher, works closely with Ashlyns School Catering Partnerships to source local, organic ingredients to ensure great school dinners . Alongside each other we use innovative ways to ensure that children are not only fed well but are food wise too. You can find out more about Ashylns by clicking here.

Break Time Snack

Whether your child is in Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2 we would like to encourage children to have a healthy break time snack. Children in Reception, Year 1 and 2 receive a portion of fruit or vegetable free of charge daily (usually apple, pear, banana or carrot). Milk is also available free to children five and under. Children in Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 may bring some fresh or dried fruit or vegetables.  Biscuits, chocolate, sweets, crisps etc... are discouraged as we aim to encourage a healthy diet and lifestyle. Water is always available, and children can also bring in their own bottle from home, as long as it has been clearly labelled with the child's name and class.
