Pupil Premium

The Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) is a special additional grant that schools receive to support the learning of students from low-income families who are either eligible (or have been eligible within the past six years) for Free School Meals (FSM) or are Children in Local Authority Care (CLA) who have been looked after continuously for more than six months. The purpose of the Pupil Premium is to help support those students from low-income families to ensure that they make progress at an equal rate to their peers. Much of the funding is based on Free School Meals (FSM) entitlement and also other benefit entitlement. Therefore it is very important that parents apply/renew their application for FSM.

Pupil premium is additional funding given to publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers.

Pupil premium is paid to the local authorities in quarterly installments. Local authorities then manage the funding and decide when to pass it on to the schools they fund
